The Lady Cardinals of Irving MacArthur kept it close…for the first quarter, but by the half Duncanville had stepped out to a 31-21 lead.
Mac tried to mount a comeback in the third, outscoring Duncanville 10-8 in the period, but the Pantherettes roared back in the final quarter to take the 55-40 victory and maintain a solid lead in district 7-6A.
Tennessee commit, and McDonald’s All Star, Zarielle Green led all scorers with 20 points. Sophomore post Hannah Gusters was the only other scorer in double digits for Duncanville with 14 points.
Sarah Andrews scored 16 points for Irving Mac and was the only non single digit scorer for the Lady Cardinals.
Next up for the Pantherettes is an away game with the Grand Prairie Lady Gophers on Friday night at 6 p.m. at Grand Prairie High School. The Pantherettes defeated Grand Prairie 90-20 earlier in the season.
