Pantherettes Continue to Dominate at 30-0

As the Pantherettes roll into the last week of district 8-6A play, they continue their domination with a perfect season record, 30-0.

The Pantherettes followed their 54-point victory over Grand Prairie High with a 68-point victory by dismantling Mansfield 87-19. On Friday night against South Grand Prairie was able to keep it a little closer, but Duncanville still walked away with a 14-point win, 68-54.

Zarielle Green led the way with 20 points against Mansfield, followed by Ciera Johnson (15 pts), Nina Alvarez (14 pts), Chreneisha Davis (13 pts), and Aakilah Caldwell (11 pts). Five other Pantherettes found their way onto the scoring list as well.

The Pantherettes never scored less than 18 points in the quarter, while not allowing Mansfield to get into double-digits in any period.

Against SGP Green again led Duncanville scorers with 17 points, followed by Johnson with 10 points. No other Pantherette got into double digits, but Aniya Thomas contributes 8 points, with Alvarez, Rosie Davis and Madison Townley scoring 8 points each.

The big factor in the game was the 31 points scored by SGP junior forward Kayla Wells. Wells has scored 463 points for the Lady Warriors this year.

The Pantherettes have two players in the “400 Club” in Ciera Johnson (423 season points), and Zarielle Green (417 season points).

The Pantherettes will finish out the regular season this week by hosting Cedar Hill at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sandra Meadows Arena, followed by an away game against Midlothian at 6 p.m. on Friday.
