South Grand Prairie was Duncanville’s final district opponent ranked in the top 25 by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) and the Pantherettes continued their domination by downing the Lady Warriors 73-48.
Consitency has been the hallmark of Duncanville’s game all season. Play tough consistent defense, protect the ball and play consistent offense, wind the ball games in convincing fashion.
Duncanville held SGP in the low double-digits each quarter and outscored them by at least 3 points each time, until the final period. The Pantherette defense wears teams down to the point that Duncanville outscored STP 24-7 in the final period.
Freshman post Hannah Gusters led Duncanville scorers with 16 points, followed by Starr Jacobs with 12 points, Nina Alvarez and Aakilah Caldwell with 10 points each.
For the Lady Warriors, Kayla Wells scored 27 points, with Diamond Wilcot scoring 10 points in the losing effort.
The final game of the regular season has the Pantherettes traveling to DeSoto for a 6 p.m. game against the Lady Eagles. DeSoto comes into the game with a 6-4 district record and curently sitting in the final playoff spot in district 7-6A.
