The Pantherettes advanced into the finals at the Sandra Meadows Classic by defeating Louisiana’s top team, St. Thomas More from Lafayette by a score 67-53. This game was the first in the tournament where the Pantherettes failed to score over 70 points and the first time an opponent scored over 40 points against them.

The win sets up a rematch of the only defeat in the Pantherette season, the Plano West Lady Wolves. Plano West defeated Denton Ryan, DeSoto, Flower Mound and Little Rock Hall (AR) to advance to the finals. The game is tonight (Thursday, December 29) at 7:30PM. The game is televised live on Sportsgram.net at www.sportsgram.net.

  1. Lousiana’s top team? What are you looking at? St. Thomas More is ranked 3rd in the state behind Southwood and powerhouse Lafayette High (who by the way, beat STM earlier this year). Lafayette High only gave up 53 points to STM in their win, the exact same as Duncanville.

  2. You are correct, Lafayette is ranked ahead of St. Thomas More .2 percentage points in the MaxPreps latest rankings, and both Lafayette and St. Thomas More are ranked behind Southwood, Shreveport. But they are ranked #1 in the Louisiana’s 4A rankings according to MaxPreps. We apologize if you feel the article was misleading.
