Next up for the Pantherettes is McKinney at 6 p.m. on Friday at Coppell

The Pantherettes were at full speed ahead on Tuesday night against San Angelo Central in the bi-district playoffs in Stephenville.

The defense was strong, the offense was strong, and the Lady Bobcats could not figure out how to deal with either one.

San Angelo Central never scored double digits in any quarter the entire game, with the Duncanville stifling defense holding them to only two points in the second quarter. By the time halftime rolled around the Pantherettes held a 41-7 lead and the rout was on.

Duncanville scored 47 points in the second half to take the 70-point victory.

Leading the way offensively for the Pantherettes was sophomore post Hanna Gusters with 20 points, followed by Senior Zarielle Green with 11 points and senior Krislyn Marsh with 10 points. Eleven Pantherettes got in on the scoring in the winning effort.

The Pantherettes will next face 26-10 McKinney at Coppell High School on Friday night, with a 6 p.m. tipoff. McKinney finished third in district 6-6A and defeated Trophy Club Byron Nelson 72-31 in their bi-district game.

The Pantherettes are still ranked #1 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll, while McKinney is ranked #18 in the same poll.

Earlier this season Duncanville defeated the Lady Lions 74-63. In that matchup Gusters scored 19 points, while Green scored 17 points and Aniya Thomas contributed 12 points. The leading scorers for McKinney were Quincy Noble with 16 points, Erin Fry for 14 points and Kayla Moutry scored 12 points.
