PACE Graduates Five

On April 12, five Mary E Smithey PACE Learning Center students were recognized for academic achievements, receiving their high school diplomas in front of an audience of their families, friends, and teachers. Pictured from left to right are Lisa Barboza, Daniel Gomez, Decorius Gray, Kha’darrius Lewis, and Ingrid Velasquez. Congratulations to Duncanville ISD’s newest alumni! Lisa Barboza enrolled at PACE in August 2010. While there, she worked diligently to earn her final 10.5 credits to reach graduate status. In May, Lisa will join the Class of 2012 at the Dallas Convention Center and participate in the Duncanville High School commencement ceremonies. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career as a licensed cosmetologist.

Enrolling in January 2012, Daniel Gomez has earned his final three credits. He now looks forward to continuing his education at Mountain View College, pursuing an interest in culinary arts.

Decorius Gray began attending PACE in August 2011 and has earned an impressive 14.5 credits to reach graduate status. In May, Decorius will join the class of 2012 at the Dallas Convention Center and participate in the Duncanville High School commencement ceremonies. After graduation, he plans to enlist in one of the branches of the United States military, most likely the Coast Guard.

Coming to PACE in January 2012, Kha’darrius Lewis has earned his final 3 credits. In May, he’ll join the class of 2012 at the Dallas Convention Center and participate in the Duncanville High School commencement ceremonies. After graduation, Khadarrius also plans to enlist in one of the United States military reserve units.

Ingrid Velasquez has been at PACE since August 2011. While there, she worked diligently to complete her final 8 credits to reach graduate status. Ingrid now plans to attend Mountain View College and pursue studies in the field of nursing.
