Nezzie L. Harris March 14, 1934 – May 29, 2016

harrisNezzie Louise Harris was born to the union of the late Asberry and Pearletha Brown, Sr. on March 14, 1934 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. To this union, ten children were born. Preceding Nezzie in death were Pearletha, Hattie, Carrie, Florence, and Minnie.

Nezzie was married to the late SFC Henry Harris and to this union three children were born, Martha, Linda, and Marylin. Her husband passed away April 14, 2009. Nezzie and Henry were united for 56 years.

Nezzie was a military spouse, travelling with her husband and children to various countries and states. They settled in Vicksburg, MS in 1969. She was self-employed at the La Boutique for ten years.

Nezzie and Henry moved to Duncanville, TX where she continued to be a long time member of  the Baha’i Faith which she belonged to for over 50 years. She originally joined in San Antonio, TX and then later joined the Duncanville Bahai’s in 2005.

jaynesNezzie leaves to cherish her memories three loving daughters, Martha, Linda, and Marylin; three grandchildren, Cornell Pitchford, Sgt. Cedric Pitchford, and Marlie Harris; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Brown of Chicago, and Rosemary Crowford of Vicksburg, MS; two brothers, Asberry Brown, Jr. of Muskegon, MI, and William Brown of Chicago; and a host of other relatives and friends.


A graveside service will be held Monday, June 6 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 10 a.m..
