Nancy Kay Thompson Maxie of Duncanville, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister and friend passed away February 12, 2017. She was born June 18, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Charles Lincoln Thompson & Ann Marie Dobbs Thompson.

A longtime member of TOPS, she had numerous friends and relatives from all over. Her lifetime devotion was to raising her family and being a mother.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Donald Benton Maxie; sons, Joseph Maxie & wife, Cali of Seminole, TX and Kevin Maxie of Park City, Utah; grandson, Solomon; granddaughter Kayleigh; sister, Betty Posey & husband, Mike of Bonham, TX; 2 nieces & 1 nephew.

Nancy worked as a donation chairman for two service organizations. She started with a Lions club in Amarillo, TX and then for her TOPS Club [Take Off Pounds Sensibly]. Her main project was for their annual State Recognition Days, where the organization arranged to provide donations to one or more local hospitals for things they could not purchase as normal budget items. In lieu of flowers we feel that she would greatly appreciate donations to this effort to support the children’s hospital which has been selected for this year’s meeting in San Marcus. Donations can be made to TX TOPS in Nancy’s name or designated to the toy drive and can be mailed to Cindy Moore, TX TOPS Coordinator at 13636 Janwood Dallas, TX 75234

Funeral Service is 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 323 W Wheatland Rd, Duncanville, TX 75116.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.
