grothMildred Mae Groth, 91, of Cedar Hill, TX, passed away on Thursday, March 10.

She is survived by her husband, John W. “Bill” Groth; daughter Glynda Groth-Putnam and husband Rich of Columbia, MO; daughter Cheryl Jasper and husband Brent of Burleson, TX; daughter-in-law Brenna Groth Patterson of Houston, TX; grandsons Billy and Andy Jasper of Burleson, and Michael and Justin Groth of Houston.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and James Abbott, and her son, John W. Groth, Jr.

Mildred was born March 26, 1924, in Mesquite, TX, and grew up in Wilmer, TX. She was a resident of Cedar Hill for 50 years. Mildred and Bill would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in July. She followed Bill in retirement in 1989. Mildred had a great love of her family, counted cross-stitching, cooking, traveling and her beautiful iris gardens. People who had only just met her felt an instant connection. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

jaynesVisitation is 6-8 pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Funeral services are 12:00 pm, Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.
