The recent Heart to Heart event for the Methodist Dallas and Methodist Charlton medical center communities took place at Uptown Village in Cedar Hill. The free community event for women featured healthy advice from physicians and nutritionists; cardio shopping and fun exercise demonstrations; free health screenings; a sampling of healthy cuisine by various restaurants; door prizes; and special deals and sales from merchants throughout the shopping center.

Attendees enjoyed dance performances of Samba, African dance, and more in the interactive demonstrations. One of the performers, Vicki Woodlee with the Texas Cool Dancers, is a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, a Mesquite resident, and a lifelong dancer who recently appeared on an episode of the popular TV show Glee, which is co-produced and choreographed by her son, Zach Woodlee.

One attendee said, “Good program. Please continue having these events for community awareness. You can save a life. Thank you.”

Heart to Heart is a “Heart of the Community” event – an initiative designed by Methodist Health System to improve the cardio health of the communities served by Methodist hospitals through heart disease education and prevention.
