Men’s Golf Finishes Lion Invite in Third Place

The Dallas Baptist Men’s Golf Team finished the 2011 Lion Fall Invitational in The Colony, Texas with a team score of 283, the lowest team score of all participants in the second round. Brandon Johnson led the way for the Patriots with a five under, 67, and Mason Horner chipped in a four under, 68, to help the team to a third place finish for the tournament. Horner’s 70-68 (138) was good enough for fourth place as an individual while Johnson finished the tournament tied for seventh.

Jamie Youree closed out the tournament with a second round 73 (+1) while Charles Gipson and Austin Struble shot 75 and 76, respectively. The Patriots finished the tournament 18 shots behind leader Central Oklahoma and two shots behind runner-up Midwestern State. The Lion Fall Invitational was the final tournament for the Patriots this fall as they prepare for their spring season which begins after the New Year.
