Louise Alexander January 23, 1920 – January 20, 2018

Known to many as Lulu, Louise Harris Alexander of Desoto, died on Saturday, January 20, 2018. She and S. Gus Alexander, who died in 1993, were married 55 years. They had one son, S. Gus Alexander, Jr., who died in the Vietnam War.

She was born on January, 23, 1920, in Godley, Texas, to Oscar Terrell Harris and Agnes Evans Harris. She had one sister, Elisabeth Harris Wilbanks, and one brother, Dr. Oscar Terrell Harris, Jr., both deceased.

Daughter-in-law, Kathy Logan Smith, and her family as well as four nephews and two nieces and their families survive her: Anthony Wilbanks and family, Patricia Callahan and family, Walter Harris and family, Dale Harris and family, Suzan Walraven and family, Harold Wilbanks and family and the family of Nancy Bennett, deceased. Rena McNeal was her trusted caregiver and companion for her last years.

She was active in the Duncanville community and school system. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Duncanville for almost 60 years. 

Funeral services and family visitation will be conducted in the main sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Duncanville on Friday, January 26, at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Dr. Frank Alegria and Rev. Dr. Dale Hunt presiding.

Burial will be private.
