Library Hours Restored to 56 per week

Effective October 3, hours of operation at the Duncanville Public Library, located at 201 James Collins Blvd., will include opening on Mondays and staying open later on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

“If you recall, a year ago, all city departments had to tighten their operational budgets and the Library cut back to 45 hours of weekly operation. We’re happy to announce things have improved, and we’ve been restored to our regular Monday through Saturday schedule,” said Library Director Carla Bryan.

Beginning Monday, October 3, the Library will be open 10:00am to 6:00pm; Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00am to 9:00pm, Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday, 10:00am to 5:00pm.

“Another benefit of opening more hours, especially staying open later in the evenings, is that we are resuming our Dad’s Night Out series of programs on the 2 nd Tuesday evening of every month. Our first program will be Tuesday, October 11 at 7:00pm in the Programming Room featuring fan favorite magician/children’s performer Brett Roberts in his “Mad Scientist Halloween Show!” stated Children’s Librarian Urla Morgan.
