warrenLeonard was born in Fort Worth Texas to Leonard H. Warren Sr. and Elizabeth Whyte Warren. He moved to Dallas at a young age and graduated from Adamson High School and went on to graduate from the University of North Texas. He met the love of his life, Myrna Randolph, in high school and married soon after graduation and later were blessed with four sons and a daughter.

Leonard grew up in the Baptist church from a young age and was a long time member of The Oaks Baptist Church, formerly known as First Baptist Oak Cliff, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon for many years. He is preceded in death by his wife Myrna, and
son Michael.

He is survived by his son Randy; son Chris, his wife, Diane, and grandchildren Adam and Erin; son, Greg and his wife, Beverly, and grandchildren Sarah and DJ; he is also survived by his daughter, Malisa Slovak, her husband, Anthony, and grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, and Amanda; grandchildren, April Campbell, Shawn Warren, Ciarra and Christian Warren, three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Duncanville Healthcare, Encompass, and Envoy Hospice for their unfailing dedication and care. The family would like to also extend a special thank you to C. M. Hester, Leonard’s lifetime friend, for his diligent faithfulness and attention throughout the last 10 difficult years. Leonard went peacefully to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.

jaynesA memorial service will be held on January 30th at 2:00 at Jaynes Funeral home.

The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service.

Interment will be held February 1st at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 9:15 a.m.
