Learn How to Have a Happy, Healthy Heart at Methodist Charlton Event Feb. 9

Come show your heart some love at Heart to Heart – a free event for women’s heart health at Methodist Charlton Medical Center. Independently practicing physicians on the medical staff will discuss all sorts of fun ways to keep your heart healthy and joyful.  You can also soothe your heartbeat with complimentary hand, foot, and chair massages. Plus, there will be giveaways, prizes, and free health screenings for blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol.

methodistCommitting to cook and eat more meals at home is a great step in improving your diet and heart health. The Heart to Heart event will feature Chef Cassondra Armstrong of Culinary Concepts who will present a cooking demonstration on behalf of the American Heart Association’s Simple Cooking with Heart program, a nationwide program sponsored by Wal-Mart. The recipes demonstrated will be heart healthy, delicious and budget-friendly. The American Heart Association will also give away a bag of free groceries to a lucky participant to get them started and inspired to cook at home.

Heart to Heart will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Methodist Charlton Medical Center Auditorium, located in the Outpatient Center. Free parking is conveniently available in the parking garage and surface parking lots.  Methodist Charlton is located at 3500 W. Wheatland Rd., near the intersection of I-20 and Highway 67.
