Launa Elizabeth Davis was born December 4, 1925 in Lexington, Missouri and went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22nd, 2016 – joining her beloved husband.
After high school, Launa moved to Kansas City, where she met and married Donald Roy Davis on June 7, 1951. Don and Launa served with Wycliffe for over 60 years. First they went to Papua New Guinea in 1957 and helped to translate the New Testament for the Wantoat people. The New Testament was dedicated in 1975. Then they went to the Solomon Islands to open the door for translations projects to begin there. When they returned to the U.S. in 1980, Launa served with Don in the Quest and ICC training programs.
Launa was a loving and fun mother, grandmother and friend. She was seldom seen without a smile on her face and a hug. She also was always dressed ready to party. She loved her family and her God with all her heart.
Launa was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Davis and her brother, Jack Amer.
