Lady Patriot’s Volleyball Makes Quick Work of Oklahoma Wesleyan at NCCAA

The Lady Patriot Volleyball Team wasted no time in their opening match of the NCCAA Regional Tournament in McPherson, Kansas. They defeated Oklahoma Wesleyan 25-20, 25-9, and 24-22. As a team, the Lady Patriots attacked at an astounding .393 percentage and, defensively, came up with 14 blocks and 45 digs.

“It was a great team win for us,” said Head Coach Cathy Ray Kokel. “We had several young ladies play great games and we were able to get a bunch of players in, which is good for our program and our future.”

Krystal Wunderlich led the way on offense with 13 kills while Kaylyn Frink and Kristin Secord both recorded 10. Frink also ended the match with double-digit digs as she picked up 10, as did Cameron Hartson. As usual, Tyler Bradsherwas in the middle of all the offense as she finished the night with 35 assists.

With the win, the Lady Patriots run their record to 17-15 as they prepare to play Colorado Christian at 10:00 am on Friday. The winner of the DBU/CCU game will play again Friday at 4:00 pm.
