The Lady Patriot Volleyball Team had their three game winning streak snapped on the road Thursday night in Fort Smith, Arkansas, as they were defeated by the Lady Lions from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. The Lady Patriots dropped the match 3-0 to fall to 10-12 on the season.
DBU hung with the top seeded team in the conference in set one but narrowly missed winning as UAFS slipped past the Lady Patriots, 25-23. The University of Arkansas Fort-Smith used their momentum to propel them into set two to defeat DBU, 25-10, to move into the third set with a commanding 2-0 lead.
The Lady Patriots battled hard in the third set, but were unable to overcome the harding hitting Lady Lions as they dropped set three, 25-19, and the match, 3-0.
Junior Kristen Secord led the Lady Patriots on the offensive side with 10 kills in the loss. Sophomore Tyler Brasher contributed with 29 assists, as well as sophomore libero Cameron Hartson with 11 digs.
The Lady Patriots fall to 4-4 in conference play with the loss and will resume conference play Saturday, October 15 at 12:00 PM against Newman University in Wichita, Kansas.
