The Dallas Baptist Volleyball Team played tough Tuesday night – but in the end, it was not enough to get by Central Oklahoma in non-conference action. Despite three players finishing with double digit kills and reigning Heartland Setter of the Week Tyler Bradsher picking up 42 assists, the Lady Patriots dropped their record to 15-14 on the season, 21-25, 21-25, 26-24, 21-25.
Christina Steinkruger and Cameron Hartson each tallied 11 kills and Kristin Secord recorded 10 of her own but Central Oklahoma responded with 87 digs and nine service aces to squeak by DBU in four games. “We played well,” said DBU Head Coach Cathy Ray Kokel. “We just did not do enough to win. Our offense was good. We had 76 digs. They were just a little better than us tonight but we will regroup and get ready for Thursday night.”
Thursday is the penultimate conference game for the Lady Patriots as they travel to Laredo, Texas to take on Texas A&M International. Saturday will mark the final conference game of the year as DBU will play St. Mary’s in San Antonio. The Lady Patriots are currently tied for third in conference with two other teams at 7-5. The top four teams after this weekend will play in the conference tournament to be held on the campus of the first place team.
