Lady Patriot Golf Ranked 15th in Latest Women’s DII Coaches’ Poll

Coming off another top-three finish on Tuesday, the Lady Patriot Golf Team was voted as the 15th ranked team in the country by Golf World and the Women’s Golf Coaches’ Association. Led by Head Coach Kenny Trapp, the Lady Patriots have recorded six top-three finishes in just seven starts including two team victories coming at the Texas Wesleyan Invitational and the NCCAA Championship. The Lady Patriots look to continue their solid play next week as they travel to Chico California to compete in Chico State University’s golf tournament.

Claiming 16 of the 17 available first-place votes Nova Southeastern remains No. 1 in the first Golf World/WGCA Division II women’s coaches poll of the spring. The Sharks won three of four fall starts and claimed the team title at the Lady Moc Classic yesterday to bolster their reputation thus far in the 2012-13 season.

Rising up a notch to the No. 2 spot is Rollins, trading spots with No. 3 St. Edward’s. Lynn claimed the No. 4 spot (while claiming the lone remaining first-place vote), with Tarleton State rounding out the top five.

One new team joined the top 10: No. 9 UNC Pembroke, up from 17th in the final fall poll. New to the poll entirely: Flagler, which claimed a share No. 20 spot.
