Lady Panthers advance to face 22-3-2 Denton Guyer in area playoffs

The Lady Panthers varsity softball team continues their quest in boldly going where no other Lady Panther team has gone in the history of the program.

Head coach Brett Duff has led his team to a 22-1 record after sweeping Copperas Cove on Friday and Saturday and the Texas Girls Coaching Association currently ranks the team 7th in the 6A division.

Freshman pitcher Saleen Donohoe got the win in the first game as Duncanville hitters got her three runs on eight hits for the game. Copperas Cove saw 2 runs on five hits in the loss.

Donohoe got the win in the second game as well as the Lady Panthers got seven hits for three runs, while holding Copperas Cove to only two hits and Lady Bulldawgs never crossed the plate to give Duncanville the 3-0 victory and the Bi-District Championship title.

Game 1 of the area playoffs versus Denton Guyer will be at Southlake Carroll High School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4.
