Offensively, the Knights boast one of the strongest line-ups in the conference.  Senior Bethany Armstrong leads with a .508AVG.  Followed close behind is senior Taylor Jones, who is hitting a .450AVG with 5HR and Junior Kaylan Pruitt leading in RBIs with a total of 24RBI.

The formula for the Lady Knights’ success can be summed up in one word: fun.

Senior Bethany Armstrong said, “We have found that we play best when we are being crazy and having fun.  During the first two games of the Langston series we became too serious, and that just does not work for our team.”

She continued saying, “We had fun the third game and jet let loose which helped us clinch a victory.  We took our intensity into the next nine games and that is why we have been able to come out on top.  Having fun helps us relax.”

This mentality is what Armstrong uses in her individual performance as well.

When asked about leading the conference in batting average Armstrong said, “I went into this season with the focus on just enjoying my last season of softball and not getting down on myself like I used to.”

“It’s my senior year and I just want to go out with a bang so I’m cherishing every moment I have left.” Armstrong continued saying, “Leading the conference is a great feeling.  I have put so much work into this game and I couldn’t be happier to see it paying off.”

The Lady Knights hope to continue their win streak when they play a non-conference double-header against University of Science and Arts Oklahoma on Thursday, April 11.  First pitch is at 2:00pm.
