mitchell_-_mar_dmn_1363026856John Willie Mitchell was born May 28, 1942, in Hockley County to the parentage of Louis and Rebecca Mitchell.  He was the youngest of eleven Children, as a child he was introduced to the Lord and was baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas.  He received his education in Levelland, TX, from George Washington Carver High School.

In 1966, John moved from Levelland to Dallas, where he started his working career with the Republic National Bank.  He later attended Barber School and also started welding; he decided to become a welder by trade.  He worked for several different companies before deciding to open his own business as J&J Mobile Trailer/Tire Repair Service.  He concluded his working career with AAA-Cooper as a trailer repair Mechanic in 2004.  John became a Deacon in 1982, and his last Church home was the Inspiring Body of Christ (IBOC) with Pastor Ricky Rush in Dallas, TX.

jaynesHe was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Rebecca Mitchell; son, Dennis Moore; grandson, Marquise Moore; granddaughter, Jasmine Moore; brothers, W.S., James Lee, Louis Jr. and Theria L. Mitchell; sisters, Olivia, Elnora, Ida Irene and Aimee Lee.  He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Nellie Jean Mitchell of Dallas, TX; sons, Samuel K. Mitchell of DeSoto, TX, Ronald (Margarita) Anderson of Plano, TX, and Steven (Marsha) Moore of Cedar Hill, TX; daughters, Mary Barnes of Dallas, TX, Marcel (Frances) Pier of Dallas, TX, Veloria Mitchell of Austin, TX, Stephanie (Larry) Bailey of DeSoto, TX, Rhonda K. Moore of Dallas, TX, Charlotte Green of Lubbock, TX, Denise (Melvin) Logan of Dallas, TX, and Delicia Mitchell of Dallas, TX; 26 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.  He also has two surviving siblings of Equilla Prout of Austin, TX, and Lonnie Faye Foley of Dallas, TX; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 11:00 am, Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Inspiring Body of Christ Church, 7701 S. Westmoreland Rd., Dallas, TX. 

Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Dallas, TX. 

Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.
