John R. Fisher age 81 of Mansfield, TX, passed away on December 1, 2012.

John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Wood Fisher; daughter, Beverly Reynolds and husband, Doug; two grandsons, Kyle & Ned; son, Jay Fisher and wife, Emily.

He graduated from Sunset HS in 1949, attended UTA and was in the U.S. Naval Air Reserves. He was activated in July 1950, and served aboard the USS Boxer in the Korean War. He retired from International Harvester after 35 years in sales. Following his retirement, he continued to serve his country for 12 years as a volunteer at D/FW National Cemetery.

He was a life-long Episcopalian and served as an acolyte, lay reader, and vestryman.  He served as the VP of the General Walton H. Walker Chapter 215, Korean War Veteran’s Association and president of International Harvester Retirees. He enjoyed farming and ranching and traveling the world.  He is a member of St. Anne Episcopal Church.

Funeral Service is 11:00 AM, Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at St. Anne Episcopal, 1700 N. Westmoreland, DeSoto, TX.

Burial follows at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday at Jaynes Memorial Chapel, Duncanville.
