lamarJohn Paul Lamar, Jr., age 91, was born March 29, 1924, in Dallas, TX. He passed away October 24, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

He was joined in marriage to his wife, Patty on May 13, 1955. They have celebrated 60 years of marriage together. John was a WWII veteran who flew 32 missions over Germany in a B-24 Liberator. He was a member of the Cedar Hill Masonic Lodge #1380 and the Hella Shrine Temple.

John, a career firefighter, joined the Dallas Fire Department on September 16, 1946. After 40 years of dedicated service, he retired from the Dallas Fire Department on June 10, 1987.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Ivy Lamar; sister, Doris Adams; brother, Hugh Lamar.

John is survived by his loving wife, Patty; three sons, David Lamar and wife, Luanne of Houston, TX, Brian Lamar and wife, Pam of Midlothian, TX, and Paul Lamar and wife, Anita of Ovilla, TX; 8 grandchildren, Andrea Lamar, Shannon Moyano, Shayne Lamar, Kyle Lamar, Courtney Lamar, Rachael Lamar, Becky Lamar and Danny Lamar; three great grandchildren, Dominic and Ana Belle Moyano, and Bentley Lamar; brother, Frank Lamar and wife, Jackie; and sister, Barbara McGee and husband, Corky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Retired Dallas Firefighters will serve as pallbearers.

jaynesVisitation is 6-8 pm, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services are 10:00 am, Thursday, October 29, 2015, at First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill, TX, 128 N Roberts Rd. Cedar Hill, TX.

Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, TX.
