Jesse Garza, also known as “Big Jesse”, 80, of Dallas, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017, at UT Southwestern Hospital in Dallas. Jesse Garza was born July 5, 1936 in Bulverde, Texas, the son of Patricio and Salturnina Garza. He was united in marriage to Casimera Castillo in 1969.

Jesse was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Oak Cliff Council #3593 for 40 years, was owner of “Grandma & Grandpa” snow cone shop 12 years, and a painter by trade for 50 years. He retired from Brown and Root and worked at TI as a contractor. He painted Bishop Dunne High School, the alma mater of all his 10 children. He worked so hard to make sure all his children had the opportunity for a Catholic education. He loved to fish, a fisherman at heart and liked to walk, and play cards with his family. Jesse enjoyed working on his fishing pond. He liked to go out and eat with his wife and family. He enjoyed going to the movies with his family and greatly enjoyed playing pool. Before ending his day he enjoyed coffee and sweet bread. He loved to go to church on Sunday and say the rosary every night with his wife. He was a devout Catholic. He was loved and cared for by his wife and family. We will miss him and we will always have him in our hearts. He taught us so much.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Casimera Garza, of Dallas; 10 children , Jesse Jr (Cynthia) , Diana ( Ramiro), Maria (Alex), Ricky (Carol), Debra, Juanita (Matthew), Aurelio(Brenda), Josie (Chris), Jesse “Turi” ( Regina), and Isabel (Jaime); 24 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren .

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the church located at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, in Dallas, Texas.

Visitation with the family is 6-9 pm on Tuesday, May 9, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville.
