dickersonJean Dickerson, loving wife and mother, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday March 29, 2016. She was born October 24, 1935 in Gladewater, TX, and had just celebrated her 80th birthday.

She was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Collins, and by her son Scott Dickerson.

Jean leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband Byron, her sister Archie-Faye, one daughter LaCretia and son-in-law Derick White…as well as countless friends, extended family, and church family.

Jean married Byron Dickerson on March 6, 1953, and they had been happily married for 63 years when she passed. Byron worked for the US Post Office, while Jean worked as a Dallas County bailiff. They have served in the Christian church their whole lives together, first as youth ministers, then later as Pastors at Increasing Faith Church. They had two children together, LaCretia and Scott. Jean was an active, vivacious woman. She loved to dance, sing, play piano, travel, swim, and have fun. She spent many years going square dancing with Byron, and loved just going out to the local disco or honky-tonk to dance. She enjoyed getting dressed up pretty and going out, even if it was just to the local Olive Garden. She never met a stranger, and could pretty much talk to anyone.
