Halloween Night Scary for Lady Patriots

Halloween night was downright scary for Dallas Baptist Volleyball (16-8, 8-3) as they traveled to Canyon, Texas, and were swept by #11 West Texas A&M (22-4) in three games. The tone for the night was set in Game 1 as the Lady Buffs bumped off the Lady Patriots, 25-11. From there, West Texas won Game 2, 25-22, and the third and final game, 25-15.

On the night, Kristin Secord was the only DBU player to record double-digit kills as she put together a solid night on the front row with 12 kills and five blocks. Cameron Hartson led the way on the back row with nine digs and Tyler Bradsher and Kaycie Bird recorded 19 and 12 assists, respectively, in the Lady Patriot two-setter system.

There will be no time for the Lady Patriots to dwell on the loss, however, as they return to action with a conference match tomorrow, November 1, against Oklahoma Panhandle State in Guymon, Oklahoma. Heading into the match, Dallas Baptist sits tied for second in the Heartland Conference and leads the fourth place team, St. Mary’s, by three games in the win column. OPSU sits in last in the conference at 0-12. Following the match in Guymon, the Lady Patriots return home for their final two matches of the regular season before traveling for the Heartland Conference Tournament beginning November 15.
