H. J. Brashear February 25, 1928 – January 17, 2018

On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, H. J. Brashear of DeSoto, Texas, stepped out into Eternity. “Wink”, or “Blondie”, as he affectionately was known, was a month shy of his 90th birthday.

The funeral service will be on Monday, January 23, 2018, 11:00 AM at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville, Texas. Reverend Patrick Mead will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at Little Bethel Memorial Park, Duncanville, Texas. Family visitation will be Sunday night at Jaynes Memorial Chapel from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Wink was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on February 25, 1928. His parents were Alvin Andrew Brashear and Minnie Ethel Killen. He was a lifetime resident of Dallas County. Wink worked at Dresser Industries for 35 years as a metallurgist specialist, and has patents on drill bits. 

He and Angelina married on September 21, 1947. They had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Wink is survived by his wife, Angelina, and five children; Rick Brashear, Dan Brashear and his wife Tami, Cathy Brashear, Becky Isbell and her husband Randy, and Tamara Sutton. He also has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews; three brothers, Walter, Roy, and Ted; and one sister, Mildred.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roland, Alvin, and JD, Preston, Bennie, and a sister, Wiley Mae.
