Geneva P. Knight, 82, of Cedar Hill, Texas, went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on January 27th, 2018 at her beloved home with her daughters by her side. Born March 13, 1935, Geneva grew up as a young child in Decatur, Texas on a working dairy farm.

Geneva’s early years were filled with lots of responsibility and hard work which started at the early age of 6 years old where she and her siblings were responsible for milking the cows twice daily. She continued this all the way until her high school graduation. She participated in many sports activities and was well known in her school as a softball pitcher. She also worked at the local Drug Store where she made her first dollars to buy her very own makeup. After her graduation she left for the big city “Dallas” with $10.00 and bought a bus ticket. She began working at Continental Emsco where she worked in the typing pool. While working there, she caught the attention of a funny, handsome mail clerk by the name of “Dub”. They were soon married thereafter on December 10th in 1955. Geneva was the proud mother of her three daughters, Becky, Teresa and Pam. Geneva was an active member of The First Baptist Church of Cedar Hill, Sunday School Teacher, Member of PTA, Coached Girls’ Softball league and was a surrogate mother to many. Geneva had the gift of caregiving and provided loving care and support to her husband, her mother and many others. Through her example, she touched those in need and taught her daughters the gift of unconditional love. After being a homemaker, she began her career at E&E Enterprises where she worked for 25 years as the payroll clerk and accounts payable. She continued her career at Arthur Anderson Accounting Firm where she worked for 15 years and retired as an accounting administrator in 1999. Geneva’s passion was always her family and she was very proud of the home she and Dub created where she lived for 55 years. Her love of cooking, gardening and entertaining family and friends was always what brought joy and happiness to her.
