Fox Named Heartland Conference Player of the Week

30-point effort helps Patriots to win on opening night

After opening the season against Abilene Christian Saturday night with a 30 point, 13 rebound effort, Nick Fox was named Monday as the Heartland Conference Player of the Week as voted on by conference Directors of Sports Information. Dallas Baptist won the game 79-72 for their first opening night win since 2008.

Fox score 15 of his points on perfect shooting from the free throw line and recorded ten of his rebounds on the defensive end of the court. He also tallied two blocks and three assists on the night in 37 minutes of action. The senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was a First-Team All-Conference Selection in 2011-2012.

The Patriots will return to action Tuesday night as they travel to Commerce, Texas, to face Texas A&M-Commerce at 7:00 pm. The Patriots won the lone meeting between the two squads last season. DBU will carry live audio of the game with Brendan Smith and Reagan Ratcliff on www.dbupatriots.com.
