Fire Truck Pull to Benefit Texas Special Olympics

It’s the ultimate tug of war challenge…and a GREAT team-building event.

The Fire Truck Pull is a Law Enforcement Torch Run® event. The Law Enforcement Torch Run® is Special Olympics’ largest grassroots fund raiser and public awareness vehicle. Special Olympics athletes and Law Enforcement Torch Run® officers carry the “Flame of Hope” at the Opening Ceremonies for Special Olympics competitions around the world.

The Presenting Sponsor for the 3rd Annual Duncanville Fire Truck Pull is W&B Service Company. W & B Service Company,, is a 65-year-old company with 19 locations in a four state area. W & B Service Company repairs refrigerated trailers and sells parts to service refrigerated trailers. W & B is in the process of constructing a new location on North Main Street in Duncanville.

Gather a team of 12 and join the fun. Your team will play “tug of war” with a 55,000 lb. fire truck to compete for prizes and bragging rights…all for a great cause! Bring all of your biggest fans to cheer you on during your pull – it’s excitement for all ages!

The 2012 Fire Truck Pull will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Armstrong/Kidsville Park in the 200 block of James Collins Boulevard in Duncanville.

Registration will begin at 9am, with opening ceremonies at 10am, and the first pull at 10:15am. An awards ceremony will be held following the last pull.

Prizes will be given to the fastest public safety team (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place), fastest civilian team (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place), and most money raised.

Special Olympics Texas is a non-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for 40,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities throughout the state. The Greater Dallas area is made up of more than 5,400 athletes competing in 18 different sports.
