In this story by L. Frank Baum and based upon the classical motion picture, Dorothy Gale of Kansas, like so many girls her age, imagines that her heart’s desire is just over the rainbow. One day a twister hits the farm where she lives with her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em.   During the storm, Dorothy suffers a bump on the head that knocks her unconscious and she dreams that she is carried away over the rainbow to another world. There she meets the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion, the two witches and the “great and powerful” Wizard of Oz in the fascinating universe of her imagination.

Through her many adventures in Oz and through the people she meets, Dorothy learns that she is a loving, brave and smart young woman and has had everything her heart could ever want, right in her own back yard – people who love and support her.  With music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg,The Wizard of Oz features many memorable melodies such as Over the Rainbow, Munchkinland (Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead), We’re Off To See The Wizard (Follow The Yellow Brick Road), The Merry Old Land of Oz and If I Were King Of The Forest.
