Eshete, Adams lead Kinghts in Outdoor Debut

Abel Eshete and Alex Adams both claimed top finishes in 2 events as the Northwood Track & Field team opened their Outdoor Season at the windy Tarleton State Invitational on Thursday.


Eshete ran a personal best time of 1:57.65 to take the 3rd spot in the 800 Meters, and was 5th in the 1500 at 4:07.18, while Adams won the Discus Throw and took 2nd in the Shot Put. Adams’ throws of 168’1 in the Discus and 59’6 3/4″ in the Shot Put both met the Automatic Qualifying Stardard for the NAIA Outdoor Championships later this Spring.

Marcus Johnson took the 6th spot in the 100 Meters, with a time of 10.98; whileTaylor Reyes placed 4th on the Pole Vault at 14′ 5 1/4″. Ben Meyer took 7th in the Shot Put at 42’7″.

For the Northwood Women, Freshman Alexis Getry placed 5th in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 107’10”

Northwood will be ack in action on Saturday, March 23 a the Bobby Lane Arlington Invitational.
