Elouise “Weesie” Williams of Duncanville, Texas, beloved mother & grandmother passed away August 19, 2017. She was born October 7, 1926 in Bodcaw, Arkansas, the daughter of Leonard Russell & Lillian Burns Russell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Fred H. Williams, Jr. in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Williams in 2017, and her brother, Coy Russell and brothers-in-law Clifton Williams, Louis Williams, Dennis Williams, Tommy Williams.

Survivors include her daughter, Shelia Hood & husband, Jim; daughter-in-law, Denise Williams; grandchildren, Amber Hatley & husband, Keenan, Joshua Fread, Michael Hood & wife, Jennifer, Stephen Mass; great granddaughter, Jordan Elizabeth Molina & husband, Adam; brother-in law Jim Williams & wife Barbara and 4 valiant sisters-in-law, Tillie, Lenda, Shirley & Beverly; foster children, David & Margie Wiss, Ron & Patsy McDaniel; most faithful friend, Janis Green; and, of course, treasured nieces and nephews.

The Russell family moved to Camden, Arkansas for Elouise’s high school years where she attended Fairview High School. As she was walking through the halls on one of her first days, Fred Williams took the opportunity to whistle at what he called the “knock out new girl”. Elouise turned, walked back to where he stood and in front of friends and teachers, slapped him across the face and walked away! That was the beginning of a lifelong love affair. She only and always spoke of his assets, his good qualities and loved him with an unending passion. He treated her like a queen; respected and honored her thoughts and opinions and loved her with his whole heart.

Elouise was a starting forward on the basketball team, a great student and good friend to many classmates who kept in touch with her over the years.

Professionally, Elouise worked as an administrator at a defense plant during the war, General Motors offices after she and Fred moved to Texas in 1950, hostessed all of Fred’s professional functions and filled the position of “Big Sister” to the Williams family.

She was a born the granddaughter of a Baptist Minister, was raised in a Missionary Baptist Church and became a committed and faithful member of Trinity Church of the Assemblies of God the last 20 years of her life. How’s that for a denominational swing?

Somewhere in there, she became “Weesie”. First, to her grandchildren but eventually to all who knew her. A beautiful, kind, wise, fun, supportive, “I know Jesus”, “don’t mess with Texas”, “biggest Dallas Cowboy fan ever”, kind of a girl. She is already missed.

Funeral Service is Wednesday, August 23, 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Church, 1231 E. Pleasant Run Rd, Cedar Hill, TX 75104.

Burial follows at Little Bethel Cemetery in Duncanville.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville..
