Dwaine Arbie Lee was born on March 14, 1925, the second of four brothers, to Robert Perry Lee and Ruby Mae Stancliff Lee, in Dallas, Texas. After long battle with dementia, Dwaine passed away peacefully on March 6, 2017, at his home at Elk Creek Senior Living Community in Burleson, Texas.
He attended public schools in Dallas and graduated from Crozier Tech High School. He entered the U.S. Army during World War II and returned to Dallas when peace came.
Dwaine married Neva Nell Turner on January 22, 1948 at Western Heights Baptist Church and two children were born-Michael Dwaine and Vicki Elaine.
He and Neva founded Lee Manufacturing and Engineering in the late 1950’s and built it into a successful steel fabrication and machining business for more than 50 years.
Neva preceded Dwaine in death in 2007. He is survived by Michael Dwaine Lee and Vicki Elaine Harper; son-in-law David Harper; five grandchildren – Aaron Michael Lee Mello, Laura Anne Lee, Julie Harper Garrett, Amy Harper Leon, and Misty Harper Pearson; and four great-grandchildren – Harper Lee Garrett, Hayden Jeffrey Garrett, Katie Michelle Leon, and Evan Jonmichael Leon; one brother, Lewis Lee; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 am, Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
