Duncanville Swim Team Competes in Regionals

Congrats to the Duncanville swim teams for outstanding performances this past weekend at the Regional Swim meet held at the Mansfield Natatorium. The girls team finished 8th (out of 19) while the boys finished 16th (out of 21).

The team was led by Catherine Bartosh who finished first in the 100 Breast and will go on to represent Duncanville at the State Swim Meet on Feb 24/25 in Austin.  Catherine, along with Madison Samples, Amanda Uland, and Crisely Mendez also placed 7th in the 200 Medley Relay.

The boys relay comprised of Kevin Henry, Victor Lima, Andrew Rourk, and Austin Needham finished 12th.  Catherine also picked up 5th in the 200 IM. Andrew Rourk finished 17th in the 100 fly missing the cut by 0.13 seconds. Madison Samples set a personal best in the 100 Free finishing 11th with a swim of 57.46 seconds.

In the 200 Free Relay the girls- Catherine Bartosh, Amanda Uland, Cassidy Doyle, and Madison Samples- finished 5th; while the boys-Austin Needham, Keenan Blair, Victor Lima, and Andrew Rourk- finished 12th. Madison Samples also picked up 12th in the 100 Back.

Finishing off the meet with outstanding performances were our 400 Free Relays-Crisely Mendez, Brook Donaghey, Grecia Caro, and Marisa Patlan; as well as Joshua Castillo, Brandon Taylor, Jakaree Jackson, and John Mooney.

Most of the swims over the weekend represented personal bests for everyone on the team.
