Duncanville SWAT Team Arrest One After Standoff

Duncanville police responded to a possible burglary in progress on Thursday afternoon, and the incident quickly developed into a barricaded person that required the Duncanville SWAT team to respond.

Police initially were called to a home in the 1000 block of Stewart Avenue on that burglary call, and when they arrived they found a broken upstairs window and other evidence that lead them to believe a suspect was still inside the home.

After negotiations failed with the suspect, police deployed tear gas into the home and the suspect came out of the house and was arrested.

The suspect was identified as Donnie Henry Harris III, 37 years of age. He was arrested on two Burglary of Habitation with the intent to assault warrants, a warrant for Burglary of a Habitation, Assault Family Violence warrant, Harassment warrant, two outstanding Duncanville traffic warrants, and a State Parole Violation warrant.
