It is not often that you build a new multi-million dollar school, expand other campuses and upgrade technology and security and, at the same time, realize a cost-savings for the district.

That is exactly what Duncanville ISD and its partners have done with the nearly-completed 2014 bond construction package.

With four of the major construction projects complete, Duncanville ISD is estimating a savings return to the district of more than $1.6 million.

The savings are a result of the hard work of our contractors, architects and Duncanville ISD team as we work closely together to ensure the top value for the district in all projects.

Savings returning to the district per project:

Hastings Elementary (new build) $586,704
Hyman Elementary (expansion) $231,128
Bilhartz Elementary (expansion) $214,202
Safety & Security Package 1 (multiple campuses) $600,000
Total savings as of November 2, 2016 $1,632,034

There are still several projects awaiting completion from the 2014 bond package including the new Acton Elementary School and Safety & Security Package 2.

The new Acton Elementary school will open to students for the 2017-2018 school year.
