It’s Final – Duncanville Hires New City Manager

The Duncanville City Council voted Tuesday night to approve an employment agreement with Duncanville’s new City Manager, Dan O’Leary.

The City contracted Strategic Government Resources (SGR) late last year to assist with the search for the new City Manager after former City Manager, Kent Cagle, accepted a position with the City of Leander, Texas.

O’Leary was one of four finalists interviewed by the City Council in April. Later that month, the City Attorney was directed to begin contract negotiations with O’Leary.

With thirty-two years of Public Service experience, O’Leary comes to Duncanville from Keller, Texas where he served as City Manager for 4 ½ years. Prior to that, he served as the San Marcos City Manager.

O’Leary’s first day of employment with the City of Duncanville will be June 4.
