Duncanville ISD – Duncanville High School’s Student Council, in partnership with Carter BloodCare is organizing a blood drive for Friday, September 1 to benefit victims of Hurricane Harvey.

More than 170 students and staff have already made appointments to donate, and Carter BloodCare is prepared to take walk-up clients on a limited basis.

“What an amazing community effort by all,” said Carter BloodCare’s Robin Schumaker. “This is an amazing testament to Duncanville!”

Carter BloodCare sent more than 1,000 units of blood this week to partners in south Texas who were affected by Hurricane Harvey and is asking for more people to donate.

Duncanville High School responded to the call. In fact, so many Duncanville ISD students and teachers wanted to help, Carter BloodCare is bringing extra buses and beds Friday to accommodate the large volume of donors.
