Duncanville Firefighters Instructing at the Municipal Fire School at Texas A&M

City of Duncanville – Three Duncanville firefighters are participating in instructing firefighters across the state at the Municipal Fire School through Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service in College Station until July 28.

Fire prevention, suppression, control and safety personnel from municipalities, industries, state and federal agencies, as well as the armed services attend this school for one week each summer. Highly qualified and experienced instructors provide extensive classroom and/or hands-on training.

Members of the Duncanville Fire Department who are instructing at the school include:

  • Sam Rohde, Fire Chief
  • Mike Ryan, EMS Division Chief
  • Steve Hatley, Driver Engineer

The Fire Department serves a population of 39,000 in Duncanville and covers over 11 square miles, and the automatic aid agreements with DeSoto, Cedar Hill and Dallas increase the response area to over 85 square miles with a population of 166,000.
