Duncanville Closes Out Season With a Loss to Cedar Hill

Duncanville varsity baseball closed out their 2012 against the Cedar Hill Longhorns on Friday night.

The Longhorns jumped out to an early first inning lead and never looked back, before defeating the Panthers by a score of 9-1.

Chris Torrez led off with a double for the Longhorns, and moved to second on a fielder’s choice when Andre More hit a slow roller to first base and was tagged out. Caleb Hamrick Hit a single to score Torrez and advanced to second on an error. Next up was Arturo Ward who drove the ball over the fence in left center to make the score 3-0. The next better was Noah Lee, who hit a double and two batters later R.J. Jones hit a double to the left centerfield wall, followed by a double by LorenzoLynch and single by Chris Clark. By the end of the first the Longhorns had put ten players at the plate and  scored six runs.

The Longhorns followed with one run in the bottom of the second, and two runs in the fourth, including a homerun by Dallas Baptist University prospect Caleb Hamrick.

Duncanville scored its lone run in the top of the seventh when Alan Bacerra reached on an error, followed by a single by Michael Tamez to move Bacerra to third. Bacerra then scored on a T.J. Giselbach double.

Duncanville finished the season with a 3-11 record in District 5-5A.
