Douglas Adair Waskom was born on December 29, 1935, in Paris, TX and passed away January 19, 2017, in Dallas, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents Vivian and Saris Waskom.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years Deanna Waskom of Dallas; 3 children – Sonna and Genaro Monsivaiz, Jon Waskom, and Jeff and Kathy Waskom; 11 grandchildren – Jose Perez, Justin Douglas Perez, Ida Monsivaiz, Genaro Monsivaiz Jr., Richard Monsivaiz, April Smith, Jacob Waskom, Alayna Waskom, Matthew Waskom, Madison Waskom and Marcus Adair Waskom; 8 great-grandchildren – Celina Perez, Malachi Perez, Kaleb Lozano, Abigail Lozano, Devin Monsivaiz, Dylan Monsivaiz, Nevaeh Monsivaiz, and Leiland Smith.

Doug and Deanna were united in marriage on September 1, 1957 (59 years). Doug was a very involved member of the Clark Road Church of Christ. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1963 and then served 3 years in the Army stationed in Germany. He retired after 33 years of service for the City of Dallas in the Planning Department. Doug was a loving husband, proud Dad and an even prouder Grandpa.

He is loved and will be missed by many.

Funeral services are at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 23, 2017, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel, 811 South Cockrell Hill Rd, Duncanville, TX 75137.

Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, TX. Visitation with the family will be from 2-4 PM, Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.
