Donald R. Hardin of Desoto, Texas, died on October 21, 2016, in Midtowne Assisted Living for Memory Care in Midlothian, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 25, 1933, in Kirkland, Texas, to parents Veva (Meece) Hardin and Joseph P. Hardin. Don’s wife of 61 years, Jean Eash Hardin, survives him.
Don married Jean Eash, of Cleburne, on October 15, 1955. He graduated from the University of Houston Pharmacy School in 1961 and the couple moved to Cleburne. Don worked for his father-in-law, Orland R. Eash, who owned Cleburne Drug. A year later Don and Jean bought the store. Don retired in 1995.
While in Cleburne, Don was a faithful parishioner of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church. He also enjoyed tennis, fishing, duck hunting, and was an avid but frustrated golfer. Don and Jean traveled to Europe many times.
They have two daughters, Julie Maiorano and husband Joseph, of San Diego, California, and Melissa Webb of DeSoto. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Christopher and Stephanie Maiorano, both of San Diego, and Katie Kleinkauf and husband Harry, of Great Mills, Maryland.
Burial will also be at Saint Anne.
