deanDonald Ray Dean, 78, passed away August 11, 2015 at his home in Cedar Hill, Texas. He was born in Tarpley, Texas, January 20th, 1937 and graduated from Medina High School, where he excelled in basketball and football. He was a major factor in taking his basketball team to the state playoffs in 1955. After high school, he joined the U S Navy and was accepted into their submarine school and trained in New London, Connecticut. He served as an Electricians Mate aboard the submarine U.S.S. Segundo.

He was a Master Electrician by trade and taught in the electrical apprenticeship training program for many years. He started Dean Electric, Inc. in 1984 and later became a general contractor doing business as Dean Construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Neva Dean; three brothers, Glen Lewis Dean, L.H. Dean, and Jerry N. Dean; his son Michael (Mike) Dean; and his grandson, USMC SGT Brett Dean.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Dean; his son, Jeffrey W. Dean and wife, Carmen; his grandchildren, Hollie Elizabeth Dean, Brittany Nicole Stech and husband, Stetson Stech, Alisha Hope Dean, and Jeffrey Brannon Dean; his great-grandchildren, Bentley Dean, and Mason Dennis. He is also survived by his brother, Robert William (Bill) Dean and sisters, Betty Zerr, Mary Ann Lutz, Joyce Gray and Sue Manago, as well as many nieces, nephews and many personal and business friends.

jaynesVisitation will be on Friday, August 14th at Jayne’s Memorial Chapel in Duncanville, Texas from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Jayne’s Memorial Chapel, 811 S Cockrell Hill Road, Duncanville, Texas. Interment will follow at Little Bethel Memorial Park in Duncanville.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Mayfield, Greg Firebaugh, Joe Yentes, Douglas Hargrove, Kolby Trebelcock, Juan (Simon) Ferman, Jesus Lira and Darian Manago.
