DISD Paricipates in the Best Southwest Relay for Life

Last year, the American Cancer Society provided approximately 24,000 services to nearly 11,000 cancer patients and caregivers in North Texas.  They hope to increase those numbers this year by encouraging greater participation in the Best Southwest Relay for Life event.  So far, 31 teams and 122 participants have signed up for the fundraiser, which will take place at Panther Stadium on May 31. Attendees will walk laps to raise money to help treat, cure, and prevent cancer. Volunteers are also needed to ensure the success of the event.

relayRelay for Life events are an opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember lost loved ones, but also to raise awareness about what we can all do to stay healthy while raising research money to one day put an end to cancer.
