DHS BPA Students Advance to State

Several members of the DHS student chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) have qualified to participate in State competition, to be held February 27- March 2 in Houston.  Students advancing to state are:

  • BPAEsmeralda Aguilar, Jordan Hamilton, Heather Hutson, and Regan Preston – First Place, Presentation Management Team
  • Lucinta Lee – First  Place, Keyboarding
  • Regan Preston – Second Place, Fundamental Word Processing
  • Jordan Hamilton – Second Place, Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Jonathan Cothern – Third Place, Fundamentals of Web Design
  • Administrative Support Team: Taylor Jarrett, Lucinta Lee, and Karina Sosa
  • Website Design Team:  Janet Martinez and Jonathan Cothern

The following students are state alternates: Daisy Ramirez, Fundamental Accounting; Nia Tyler, Advanced Accounting; Janet Martinez, Basic Office Systems and Procedures; Karina Sosa, Basic Office Systems and Procedures; Jessica Hodge, Fundamental Word Processing; and Issrael Briseno, Prepared Speech.
