DHS Basketball Teams Advance Into The Playoffs

After defeating the Lady Raiders of L.D. Bell High School in UIL bi-district, the Pantherettes move on to face the Flower Mound Marcus Lady Marauders in UIL area playoffs.

The game will be played on Thursday evening (02/16) at 6:30PM at Euless Trinity High School, 500 N. Industrial Blvd., Euless.

The Lady Marauders defeated Denton Guyer 39-27 in their bi-district game. Morgan Easley led Flower Mound with 14 pts in the game. Easely, a senior guard leads the Marauders, averaging 9.2 ppg, along with 85 rebounds and 36 assists.

Duncanville defeated Marcus 69-36 in a game played earlier in the season.

In Duncanville’s game against L.D. Bell, Pantherette leading scorer Empress Davenport was off her game. The senior guard scored only 1 point, far below her 13.7 average. Sophomore Tasia Foman with 19 points (13.2 ppg average) for the game picked up the Pantherettes scoring.

The varsity boys’ team also enters the playoffs next week. The Panthers play Irving Nimitz on Tuesday, February 21, at 7:30PM at Arlington’s Sam Houston High School in UIL bi-district play.

Nimitz comes out of district 6-5A, finishing 13-17, behind Richland, Colleyville Heritage, and Irving MacArthur.
