DBU’s Fink Named Heartland Woman of the Year

Dallas Baptist volleyball player Kaylyn Fink has been named the Heartland Conference Woman of the Year after a vote of the league’s Senior Woman Administrators.

Fink, who earned a degree in business marketing from DBU this year, will now be the league’s nominee for the NCAA’s National Woman of the Year Award.

A four-year starter for the Patriots at outside hitter, Fink was selected as team captain for the last two seasons. In 2009, she was named most valuable player of the Heartland Conference Championships.

She has been previously recognized as winner of the Heartland Conference Sportsmanship Award.

Fink served as president of the DBU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee from 2009-2012 and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

She has participated in numerous community service projects, including Habitat for Humanity, Buckner Missions, Mission Arlington and the Feast of Sharing.

Academically, Fink is a member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society and has been on the Dean’s List and received the President’s Academic award while at Dallas Baptist.

She is a native of McKinney, Texas.
